About

Kristen Bazen’s first stories were shared in the dark between bottom bunk and top bunk, told in tandem with her younger sister. In elementary school, she discovered the magic of the written word and later completed her first novel in tenth grade.

Now, she mainly writes speculative fiction inspired by the Middle East and laced with strong Christian themes. Occasionally, she writes poetry to process life’s hard seasons, and she finds that collecting words on a page helps lead her back to the God of hope and light.

She has short stories published in the anthologies Wither and Bloom, Crowns: A Heartbooks Anthology, and The Willow Tree Swing, and her poems are published in The Heights We’ll Fly To, Of Ink & Paper, and Masquerade. When she’s not writing or running her photography business, Kristen dabbles in foreign languages, trains in martial arts, and raises awareness on how ordinary people can fight human trafficking.
